The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, together with the Qatar Fund, supports rural communities in the frontline territories of Ukraine. The total amount of the agreement is $10 million. The program provides assistance to over 3,500 farms and approximately 100 small farmers who have lost the ability to safely cultivate their land due to mine remnants.

FAO will be engaged in assessing soil conditions, rehabilitating lands, and restoring production, while the World Food Programme of the United Nations will conduct land demining. The program also includes geospatial mapping of damaged lands and skills training for local specialists in land restoration.

This joint initiative will help ensure a safe transition from demining to full restoration of land cultivation in communities in the frontline territories.

Thanks to this agreement, rural communities will have the opportunity to return to normal life and restore agricultural production that has been affected by the consequences of war and mine threats.
