Teachers' salary increase under threat
The All-Ukrainian Association of Communities (AVAG) warns of potential problems with increasing teachers' salaries due to a lack of funding in local budgets. To implement plans for increasing educators' salaries, 14 billion UAH is needed. However, these funds are not provided for in the state budget for 2026.
Additionally, to increase salaries for social and rehabilitation workers, another 28 billion UAH is required. It is important to note that 97% of local budgets have already been approved by the end of the budget year, complicating the possibility of additional funding.
Call to action
AVAG urges the Cabinet of Ministers to urgently develop mechanisms to cover community expenses. Without urgent measures, the funding for the increase in teachers' salaries remains under threat, which could negatively impact the quality of education in the country.
This situation highlights the importance of proper funding for the education sector, which is critically necessary to ensure the stability and development of the education system.

The lack of funds for increasing teachers' salaries may lead to a decrease in teachers' motivation and worsen learning conditions for students. It is crucial for the government to find effective solutions to ensure adequate funding, which is the key to quality education in Ukraine.
