Every day at 9 am Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember the Hero of Ukraine Valeriy Oshkalo.
On March 12, 2022, Oshkalo along with Roman Chekhun received a mission to destroy an enemy column in the Kherson region. Information about the tragic event was provided by various news sources.
Valeriy Oshkalo was born on November 24, 1967, in the city of Rovenki in Luhansk region. He graduated from aviation school and served in tactical aviation, always proud of his work and inspiring his students and subordinates with his high skills.
After serving in the Armed Forces, he retired but went back to the front during the partial mobilization.
In mid-March 2022, Valeriy Oshkalo together with Roman Chekhun went on a combat mission to the Kherson region. This became the last flight for these brave pilots. Oshkalo was a Colonel, the head of the air force and tactical training service, while Chekhun was a navigator for the brigade.
