In Ivano-Frankivsk, on August 27, the traffic opens on the Galician Bridge over the Bystrytsia Solotvynska, the construction of which lasted nine years. The first cars will be able to pass over the new crossing starting at 5:00 AM, right after the end of the curfew. This was announced by the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Marcinkiv.
When will the traffic on the new bridge in Frankivsk open
The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Marcinkiv, reported that the bridge, the access road, and the transport interchange have already been put into operation. Therefore, in the morning of August 27, the crossing will be available for transport.
«Tomorrow at 5 AM, after the curfew, cars will be able to move on the bridge to Pasichna. Finally, we have received permission and the interchange, the bridge, and the access road have been put into operation,» said Ruslan Marcinkiv.
The official name of the crossing is the Galician Bridge. It has two lanes and connects the Pasichna microdistrict with another part of Ivano-Frankivsk. The new route is expected to partially relieve the existing road network of the city. The bridge will be used by passenger cars, trucks, and public transport.
The city authorities do not plan to hold a ceremonial opening. Marcinkiv urged residents to take care of the newly constructed infrastructure.
The construction of the bridge to Pasichna lasted since 2017
The construction of the crossing began in 2017, and initially, the completion was scheduled for September 2019. The first contractor was LLC «Bridge Construction Team No. 112». The initial cost of the work was 120 million UAH, and later the parties signed an additional agreement for another 58.35 million UAH.
In 2019, construction was suspended due to a lack of funding. In 2023, the contract with the contractor was terminated, and the following year a new agreement for the completion of the bridge worth 267 million UAH was signed.
The timelines for the project were affected by a lack of funds, the COVID-19 pandemic, full-scale war, and the rising costs of building materials. As of June 2025, more than 536 million UAH has been spent on three phases of construction. The estimated total cost of the entire project was then valued at approximately 868.4 million UAH.
