Andriy Lyubka's Military Service
Author Andriy Lyubka has enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and taken the oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people. He shared details of his service on his Facebook page, noting he is now in his second week and gradually adapting to his new reality. Lyubka described his current conditions as good, stating that the food and material provisions have exceeded his expectations. He expressed particular satisfaction with the boots, socks, and winter sleeping bag issued to him by the military.
Challenges at the Front
Life on the front line, however, is not without its difficulties. Lyubka admits that what he misses most is his beloved partner and his children. He described sometimes waking in the morning with the urge for a hug, a habit his fellow soldiers might not understand. Despite this, he feels he is where he needs to be and states with pride that he is serving the Ukrainian people. His enlistment is part of a broader trend of cultural figures answering the call to defend their nation.
In light of Lyubka's mobilization, it is worth noting others who have recently signed contracts with the Ukrainian military:
- Mykhailo, the 18-year-old son of TV presenter Marychka Padalko and politician Yegor Sobolev, has also joined the ranks of the Ukrainian army.
- Journalist Dmytro Gordon noted that while he has three sons and four daughters, threats to their safety have led his family to keep the children abroad. He emphasized he cannot disclose their location due to the ongoing danger.
The mobilization of writers and other cultural figures reflects a nationwide commitment to national defense during wartime. It underscores how Ukrainians from all walks of life are prepared to support their state during this challenging period. The service of Lyubka and other young people highlights the critical importance of societal unity and solidarity in the face of external threats.
