The United States is ramping up diplomatic efforts in Ukraine amid the deadline set by Donald Trump for achieving peace in Ukraine. The special representative of the US president for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, is preparing to visit Kyiv in the coming days, during which American businessman and ally of the White House, Steve Witkoff, will also visit Moscow.

The first ultimatum to Putin was issued by the US president in July, giving 50 days to cease hostilities. Recently this deadline has been shortened, with a new date set for August 8. If no agreement is reached, Trump has threatened sanctions.

India has already felt the new rhetoric from Washington and the tariffs on a number of goods. As for Russia, secondary sanctions are also mentioned that may impact countries continuing to support the Russian economy. It is expected that Ukraine will also receive support in this situation.

The previous visit of Keith Kellogg to Kyiv yielded some results, particularly a pause in the shelling of the capital of Ukraine. President Zelensky expressed hope that Ukrainians would be able to meet the US requirements and achieve peace in the country.

Summary:

The activation of US diplomatic efforts in the Ukrainian direction indicates growing attention to the situation in Ukraine and a desire for a quicker resolution to peace in the region. The shortening of deadlines for achieving peace and threats of sanctions demonstrate a serious approach to resolving the conflict. Further developments and cooperation between various states are expected to ensure stability and security in the region.
