Criteria for choosing a device

When choosing a multicooker for home or a summer house, pay attention to the following characteristics:

  1. Body material. It can have a plastic or metal body. Metal models look very impressive but are heavier and more expensive. The quality of cooking does not depend on the body material.
  2. Internal bowl coating. It can be Teflon or ceramic. A Teflon layer protects food from burning but can get scratched by metal utensils. A ceramic layer also has non-stick properties and doesn’t scratch, but sometimes chips and doesn’t allow washing the bowl in a dishwasher.
  3. Heating element type. Most multicookers are equipped with a heating element that is located right under the bowl, while some models also have heating elements in the walls and lid. Additionally, there are induction models that heat exclusively the bowl, ensuring swift cooking and energy-efficient consumption.
  4. Power. This indicator affects the cooking speed, power consumption, and the cost of the multicooker. The power of the device should correspond to the bowl size: small multicookers – up to 500 watts, medium – about 800 watts, large – 1000 watts and more.
  5. Bowl size. You can purchase bowls ranging from 2 to 10 liters. The universal option for a family of several people is a 5-liter bowl. If the family is large, consider models with a bowl of 6 liters or more. If the multicooker is needed for 1 or 2 people, you can settle for a model with a 3-liter bowl. Keep in mind that the full bowl capacity mentioned in the device description will be about one liter less in usable capacity.
  6. Control panel. A button or touch panel can be on the device lid or front. It is important that the display, which shows information about the cooking programs of different dishes, is as clear and understandable as possible.

What advantages does the device have?

To cook food in a multicooker, it’s enough to put all the ingredients in it and select the desired program – the device will do the rest by itself, then turn off and alert you with a signal. The temperature mode and time are precisely calculated, so you don’t have to worry about food burning, overflowing, or being undercooked.

Thanks to the delayed start function, you can set the multicooker to start cooking at a specific time, for example, so that porridge is ready early in the morning when you just get out of bed. The delayed start can also be used for preparing dinner. Just imagine: you come home from work, and everything is already ready!

It can perform various functions, replacing several kitchen appliances at once. With its help, you can boil, stew, fry, steam, bake, make yogurt, and much more.
