As part of the reform of the military training system for youth and students in Ukraine, significant changes will take place. Thus, a training cycle for national resistance will be introduced from the age of 14, as announced by Igor Khort, acting head of the national resistance policy department of the Ministry of Defense.

For this purpose, instead of basic military training, a new model will be implemented - the fundamentals of national resistance, which will cover all citizens starting from school age. Preparing citizens for national resistance will become mandatory and will begin as early as 14, including military-patriotic games and the study of a new subject 'Defense of Ukraine', which is already being implemented in educational institutions.

«We are now moving away from the system where everything was reduced to BZVP. This is no longer just an educational discipline; this is a cycle of training citizens for national resistance», - emphasized a representative of the Ministry of Defense.

In addition, BZVP in universities will be replaced by 'Fundamentals of National Resistance', but without assigning a military specialty. Training will involve practical participation in education, including weapon handling and tactical training. After completing education, citizens will be required to undergo basic military service, which will become part of general training and will allow for a mass and sustainable defense of the country.

Also, the ministry has already begun implementing '18-60+' centers, which will become places of training for reservists, students, and others interested. These steps are aimed at strengthening national resistance and readiness to defend the country.

Ukraine is reforming its military training system by introducing a training cycle for national resistance from the age of 14. This provides for a new approach to training citizens in the defense sphere of the country, including military-patriotic games and mastering a new subject 'Defense of Ukraine'. The introduction of training centers for reservists and others will also contribute to increasing the country's readiness for potential threats.
