Tatyana and Mikhail Khankov from the city of Brody celebrate their Iron wedding, having been together for 65 years. The couple raised two children, has four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Their acquaintance began in the army headquarters, where Tatyana worked as a telephone operator and Mikhail was a flight dispatcher.

“We met at work. He came to see the new telephone operator and was lost,” says Tatyana Khankova.

“I saw her and realized that here is my life. I remember her gray coat, black collar. Small, round, nice. But when I heard her talk, I said: 'Here is the girl!'”, adds the man.

Mikhail is originally from Russia, but after his service, he returned to Tatyana, and they got married in 1960. The couple raised many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tatyana has always been a support for her husband, who worked as a scientist and actively supported the Ukrainian movement.

“When it was difficult for me, he was always there. When I had a difficult lung surgery, he always supported me,” shares Tatyana's memories.

The couple grows vegetables and flowers on their plot next to the house. At their wedding, Tatyana shares advice: 'The first piece of advice is to love. Never marry if you do not love the person. If you love someone, you will do everything to be together. For life.'
