She also noted that when they entered the civil registry office, they felt as if they were young again. 'God grant that we live to see our son return from captivity,' added Maria Ivanivna, highlighting the hopes and desires that continue to shape their lives. This poignant wish reflects the ongoing hardships faced by many Ukrainian families today.

This story serves as a powerful example of enduring and resilient relationships, which have become the foundation for a large, multi-generational family. The Olesiuks, having spent over half a century together, prove that true love and mutual support can withstand the test of time.

The importance of this event lies not only in the legal act of marriage but also in its symbolic meaning for younger generations. The Olesiuks' journey can serve as an inspiration to other families, underscoring the value of traditional commitments and strong bonds in the modern world. Furthermore, their hope for their son's return from captivity mirrors the complex realities confronting numerous Ukrainian families, emphasizing the critical importance of family unity and support during the nation's ongoing challenges.
