Wet Snow Forecast for Ukraine's Northeast and Carpathian Mountains

Прогнозують опади у вигляді вологого снігу на північному сході України та в Карпатах.

Weather Forecast for Ukraine

Meteorologist Natalia Didenko has announced that precipitation is expected across Ukraine in the coming days. During nighttime hours, rain may transition to wet snow in the northeastern oblasts, specifically in Sumy, Kharkiv, and parts of Chernihiv, as well as in the Carpathian Mountains. She shared this update during a broadcast on the YouTube channel 'Great Lviv Speaks'.

Didenko explained that the recent sunny and warm weather was due to an anticyclone, but cloud cover will now increase, bringing precipitation.

"This will mostly be rain. I don't foresee any heavy downpours at the moment, but there will be light rainfall," the meteorologist noted.

Daytime temperatures will remain above freezing; however, nighttime lows are expected to drop to between +2 and -3 degrees Celsius. This dip below zero at night is typical for March, when wet snow can occur under such conditions. Early spring in this region often sees volatile weather patterns as winter reluctantly recedes.

Advice for Residents and Tourists

Didenko added that anyone in the Carpathians who sees snow swirling in the morning

"shouldn't be alarmed or think that winter has returned."
Consequently, residents and visitors to these Ukrainian regions should prepare for changing weather conditions in the next few days.

The shift in weather could impact daily life, particularly in the northeastern areas where wet snow is possible. It may also pose challenges for tourists planning trips to the Carpathians. It is important to consider weather forecasts and adapt plans accordingly to avoid potential inconveniences.
