Daily Schedule Launches for the Bessarabia Train
Starting June 28, the Bessarabia train connecting Kyiv and Chisinau will operate on a daily schedule. This change was approved by Ukraine’s Ministry of Communities and Territories Development, Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia), and Moldova’s railway operator CFM. Oleksiy Kuleba, Ukraine’s Minister of Communities and Territories Development, emphasized that the route to Chisinau remains a key international corridor for Ukrainians. Notably, the service offers convenient access to Chisinau International Airport, which provides flights to numerous European destinations.
Schedule Adjustments and New Routes
Starting June 29, the departure time from Chisinau will shift to 19:52, replacing the previous 17:42 departure. The train will feature second-class and compartment cars, along with a brand-new children’s car debuting on its first trip. Tickets are available through the Ukrzaliznytsia app, official website, and railway ticket offices.
In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia has introduced an extra train to Lviv, launched a new regional service, and restored direct connections between Dnipro and Kharkiv. These improvements aim to enhance transportation links and passenger convenience.
The introduction of a daily schedule for the Bessarabia train reflects growing demand for cross-border travel between Ukraine and Moldova, especially as air connectivity continues to expand.
These schedule changes and new train services highlight Ukrzaliznytsia’s efforts to improve accessibility and comfort for passengers, potentially boosting tourism and economic ties between the two nations. The increased frequency of service may also aid recovery from the impacts of the pandemic and regional conflicts.
As travel options expand, the newly launched daily service not only enhances connectivity between Kyiv and Chișinău but also introduces a dedicated children's car, catering to families.
