It was noted that the new units will include modern technologies, including drones. The 'Russians' already have similar units, so the decision to create assault troops for Ukraine is a logical step.
«As for the assault troops, we have established assault battalions and regiments, which, throughout 2025, will undoubtedly show good results. And we decided that we need to enter the legal realm. The 'Russians' decided to do the same as we do. We will now create separate assault troops, this decision has been made. Everything is currently being prepared, and I think it will be operational in about a week - ten days. Modern assault troops with a drone component, with everything else. Of course, they are working together today; assault regiments and Airborne Assault Forces are performing strong tasks,» Zelensky said.
According to information, the Armed Forces of Ukraine currently consist of three main branches: the Ground Forces, the Air Forces, and the Naval Forces, as well as other branches, including the Special Operations Forces, Territorial Defense Forces, Drone Systems Forces, Airborne Assault Forces, and Signal and Cybersecurity Forces.
