Members of Generation Z, or Zoomers (the youth born between 1997 and 2012), face a new problem. According to recent survey results, most Zoomers cannot afford relationships – they literally spend not a penny on dates. Nevertheless, this does not prevent them from achieving success. This is reported by 'Glaascom' referencing the Bank of America research.
Bank of America conducted research on the financial skills of youth. Participants included residents of the United States aged 18 to 28. Specifically, survey participants were asked to discuss their spending on dates with loved ones and friends. An interesting finding was revealed: 53% of males and 54% of females from Generation Z spend exactly zero cents on dates per month. About 25% of males and 30% of females allow themselves to splurge a little – their monthly spending on love does not exceed $100.
Establishing Strict Boundaries in Financial Interactions with Partners and Friends
Holly O'Neill, president of consumer, retail, and premium banking services at Bank of America, commenting on the survey results, noted: 'The cost of growing up is high. But Generation Z does not give up and continues to gain experience.' Most Zoomers admitted that they try to establish strict boundaries in their financial interactions with partners and friends.
Generation Z, or Zoomers, have shown an interesting approach to dating expenses by setting strict financial boundaries in their interactions with partners and friends. Although most young members of this group do not spend money on love, they continue to gain experience and develop.
