Escalating Conflict on the Pokrovsk Front
Russian military activity has intensified on the Pokrovsk axis, with forces attempting to consolidate positions on the outskirts of Pokrovsk and advance toward Myrnohrad and Hryshyne. Russian units have occupied the settlement of Rivne, indicating mounting pressure from the enemy in this area. Fighting continues for the towns of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, where Russian forces now control approximately 95% of Pokrovsk's territory. This sector is a critical part of the broader Donetsk Oblast front line.
The enemy is attempting to infiltrate Hryshyne from the northwestern outskirts of Pokrovsk and is actively deploying remote mining. Notably, areas that Ukrainian forces manage to clear of mines are immediately re-mined by the enemy. In northern Pokrovsk, launch sites for enemy drones have been identified, and there are ongoing attempts to ferry infantry into the town. In addition to trying to breach Hryshyne from Pokrovsk, Russian troops are also attempting to push into the village from the direction of Kotlyne, though they have been successfully blocked there.
Mounting Pressure on Myrnohrad
The situation in Myrnohrad remains tense, with analysts suggesting that 'the story of its defense is nearing its end.' Russian attempts to enter Hryshyne persist, and the focus of Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance has recently centered on this settlement. Access to Pokrovsk remains severely restricted, complicating Ukrainian defensive operations. Currently, the 'grey zone' in Pokrovsk consists of a few blocks in the northwest toward Hryshyne and a small area in the north toward the city of Rodynske.
This escalation highlights the severe challenges Ukrainian forces face in maintaining their defensive lines in the region. Continued support from allies and efficient resource management will be crucial factors in countering the Russian advance. Given the strategic importance of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, the outcome of this battle could significantly impact the overall situation on the eastern front.
