Poles are mass enrolling in survival courses: what motivates preparation

Польські громадяни активно беруть участь у курсах виживання: що спонукає їх готуватися до труднощів.

In Poland, the popularity of survival courses, military schools, and shooting ranges has sharply increased due to the population's fear of a possible war with Russia. Citizens of the country are actively preparing for military action, learning to shoot and studying guerrilla warfare tactics.

Piotr Churillo, known in Poland as 'Grandpa Preppers', has so much military gear in his garage that he could stop an entire platoon of Russian invaders. All of this is stored near his home in a rural community in northern Poland, less than 80 kilometers from the Russian border.

Churillo himself emphasizes that he is ready for guerrilla warfare and convinces everyone: 'if you want to rely on someone, rely on yourself.' The youth of Poland are also actively preparing for a potential conflict by attending military gyms and schools to acquire the necessary skills.

Preparation for war is becoming a mass phenomenon. The country is turning into a modern Slavic Sparta: children are learning guerrilla warfare tactics, and young women are mastering shooting.

Official Kyiv also considers the risk of a possible conflict, which adds to the fear among the Polish population. Preparing for war is becoming a priority for the government and community initiatives, including strengthening the border and enhancing defense capabilities.
