Vinnytsia Police expelled a citizen of the Russian Federation with a five-year entry ban

Правоохоронці Вінниці заборонили в'їзд на територію України громадянину Росії на п'ять років.

Forced expulsion of a citizen of the Russian Federation

The police of Vinnytsia region forcibly expelled a citizen of the Russian Federation with a five-year entry ban to Ukraine due to illegal stay. The citizen of the Russian Federation was on the territory of Ukraine without legal grounds for further stay, which was the basis for the actions of law enforcement.

According to information from operatives of the Migration Police Department of the Main Police Department in Vinnytsia region, the foreigner ignored the decision to return to Russia and did not leave within the established time. On April 15, the migration police initiated a forced expulsion, after which the Russian national was taken to a temporary detention point for foreigners for further expulsion.

Deportation of foreigners in Ukraine

It is worth noting that in 2022, the Finnish Migration Service Migri made a record number of decisions on the deportation of foreigners convicted of crimes. In total, 169 individuals were subject to expulsion based on criminal offenses, among whom the most deportation decisions were received by citizens of:

  • Iraq
  • Estonia
  • Russia

This case illustrates the increasing attention of Ukrainian law enforcement to migration issues and control over the stay of foreigners in the country. Under the conditions of enhanced security in Ukraine, especially in connection with the war, such actions may become part of a broader strategy for managing migration flows and preventing potential threats. The next steps of law enforcement may include even more measures to control foreigners staying on the territory of Ukraine without legal grounds.

In light of recent developments regarding immigration enforcement, the case of an Armenian national who faced deportation after 18 years of illegal residence in Ukraine highlights the ongoing challenges related to foreign nationals living without proper documentation. Such situations underscore the necessity for stricter control measures as authorities aim to manage migration more effectively.
