Every morning at 9 o'clock, Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Andrii Kharkiv.
Senior lieutenant Andrii Kharkiv, with the call sign Hornet, died while fulfilling his military service duties in the combat zone during the repulsion of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation near Robotyne, Polohy district of Zaporizhzhia region on August 15, 2023. This was reported by 'Glavcom' citing information from the Lopatyn territorial community and the text of the petition on the website of the President of Ukraine.
Andrii Kharkiv was born on November 9, 1997, in the village of Kulykiv, Chervonohrad district, Lviv region. He studied at school, was always smiling, diligent, honest, responsible, kind, ready to lend a helping hand. He obtained a secondary education at the Synkiv Secondary School of I-III degrees. Later, he became a successful graduate of the Faculty of Chemistry of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. He dreamed of becoming a military man.
Military service and death
From 2017 to 2019, Kharkiv completed the full course of military training for reserve officers at the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny.
In 2019, he was called up to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city of Rivne. He took up the defense of our Motherland from the first days of March 2022. He participated in battles for our freedom and the protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine in various directions: Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia.
