Lucas Taylor Leaves Polissya

Ukrainian club Polissya has announced the end of its partnership with Brazilian defender Lucas Taylor. Taylor joined the team on October 18, 2023, and went on to make 33 appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists. His contract expires on June 30, and the club has decided not to extend the deal for the 31-year-old.

During his time at Polissya, Taylor demonstrated professionalism, but his stint was hampered by a serious injury sustained during a Conference League qualifier against Santa Coloma. Following that incident, he underwent surgery and missed eight months due to ligament damage. Before joining Polissya, Taylor played for clubs such as Shakhtar, Dnipro-1, FC Lviv, and Greek side PAOK.

Polissya expressed gratitude to Lucas Taylor for his significant contribution to the team’s historic achievements, noting that his experience and character will forever remain part of the club’s modern history.

We wish Lucas success in his further professional career, new sporting accomplishments, and bright victories.

Polissya’s Recent Achievements

In the 2025/26 season, Polissya secured the bronze medal in the Ukrainian Premier League, finishing just one point behind silver medalists LNZ. This success highlights the club’s steady growth in recent years.

For context, the Ukrainian Premier League has seen increasing competition, with teams like Polissya emerging as strong contenders. In the 30th round of the UPL, Andriy Storochus from Kudrivka was named the best player after scoring a brace against Dynamo Kyiv. The best coach of that round was Ruslan Kostyshyn of Kolos, whose team defeated Shakhtar 1-0 thanks to a goal from forward Tahiri.

The departure of Lucas Taylor marks a pivotal moment for Polissya as the team seeks to strengthen its squad following a successful season. Losing an experienced defender may influence the club’s strategy and player selection for the upcoming campaign, as they aim to maintain their competitiveness in the league. This development also allows the club to reassess its transfer priorities and reinforce positions that need bolstering.

The departure of Lucas Taylor comes at a crucial time for Polissya, especially as the club reflects on its impressive journey in the Ukrainian Premier League.
