FC Polissya Announces Squad Changes

FC Polissya has confirmed the end of its partnership with midfielder Bohdan Lednev. His contract expired on June 30, 2026, making him a free agent. At the time of the contract's conclusion, Lednev was 28 years old. During his time in Zhytomyr, he made 34 appearances, scored 2 goals, and provided 3 assists. A product of Kyiv's Dynamo academy, Lednev previously played for Dnipro-1 and Luhansk's Zorya, and also gained experience with Hungarian club Fehervar.

The club expressed sincere gratitude to Bohdan Lednev for his professionalism, contributions to the team's results, and the memorable football moments they shared together.

'Your hard work and dedication on the field have been a vital part of our shared history. We wish Bohdan good health, success in his football journey ahead, and new sporting achievements,' the club's press service stated.

Seeking New Opportunities

It has also been reported that winger Oleksiy Hutsulyak has temporarily left Ukraine in search of a new club abroad. Hutsulyak declined to extend his collaboration with Polissya, and head coach Ruslan Rotan did not include him in the squad list for the team's training camp in Austria. Last season, Hutsulyak played 31 matches, scoring nine goals and delivering seven assists. His estimated transfer value is 3.5 million euros. Once Hutsulyak finalizes his search for a new club, he will also become a free agent.

The termination of the partnership with Bohdan Lednev and the potential transfer of Oleksiy Hutsulyak highlight active changes within FC Polissya's roster. The club appears intent on rejuvenating the squad and exploring new solutions to improve its sporting performance. Given Lednev's experience and Hutsulyak's potential, their departures could impact the team's strategy in upcoming seasons, while the search for new players becomes a priority for the coaching staff. These decisions may also reflect the club's desire to adapt to new challenges in Ukrainian football.

As FC Polissya undergoes significant roster changes, the departure of players like Bohdan Lednev is just one aspect of the evolving team dynamics. Meanwhile, Hutsulyak's search for a new club abroad adds another layer to the club's strategy as they aim to revitalize their lineup and enhance their competitive edge.
