Poland Delivers Generators Valued at 10 Million Zloty to Ukraine
Poland's Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine, Piotr Łukasiewicz, has detailed a fundraising campaign and the subsequent delivery of generators. According to him, Polish citizens raised 10 million zloty, which was used to purchase a large quantity of generators for Kharkiv, Sumy, and Kyiv. The fundraising concluded two weeks ago, and Poland has now dispatched this substantial energy aid package to Kyiv and surrounding communities.
Scale and Purpose of the Generator Shipment
A consignment of 400 generators of various models, drawn from Polish state reserves, is en route to Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Piotr Łukasiewicz emphasized that the entire staff of the Polish embassy remains in Kyiv to support Ukrainians during this difficult time.
I want to say that for me and my embassy colleagues, it is an honor to share the fate of Kyiv's residents now and to support them during Russian attacks. All our staff are doing everything possible to alleviate the suffering of the city's inhabitants, which is why we joined the initiative to support Ukrainians and supply generators to your capital.

In his remarks, Łukasiewicz also noted that Polish society continues to show solidarity with Ukraine. He stated: 'You ask about Poles' attitude towards Ukrainians, so I will answer you this way: two weeks ago, I experienced the best moment of my tenure in this diplomatic post.'
The diplomat stressed that these generators carry more weight for bilateral relations than isolated anti-Ukrainian slogans that might be heard in Poland.
Cities Receiving Aid
The cities that have received generators are:
- Kharkiv
- Sumy
- Kyiv
This assistance forms a crucial part of Poland's efforts to support Ukraine amid the ongoing crisis.
This action underscores the close cooperation between Poland and Ukraine, particularly regarding energy security, which has become critically important during the war. The generators will provide power to cities impacted by Russian attacks and help sustain essential services under challenging conditions. Poland's sustained support for Ukraine, a key neighbor and EU partner, is strengthening bilateral ties for the future.
