Poland's Statement on TikTok
Poland has called on the European Commission to initiate proceedings against TikTok for spreading content created by artificial intelligence that contains calls for the country to leave the European Union. Dariusz Standecki, Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs in Poland, emphasized that the available information indicates that TikTok has not implemented adequate mechanisms for content moderation.
The Polish side believes that the content being distributed on the platform is part of a coordinated disinformation campaign. According to Polish government spokesman Adam Szlapa:
“The disseminated videos are Russian disinformation, raising serious concerns about their impact on public opinion and the political situation in the country.” - Adam Szlapa
The government's reaction and future plans
This situation highlights the importance of monitoring information flows, especially in the context of active use of artificial intelligence in various sectors, including media. The Polish government, responding to the challenges of modern technology, plans to take measures to protect its citizens from the negative effects of disinformation that could threaten the stability of the country and its Euro-integration aspirations.
