Support for Ukraine in Poland has halved: what a Bloomberg survey showed

Допомога Україні в Польщі зменшилась: результати опитування Bloomberg.

Support for Ukraine among the Polish public has sharply declined from 95% to 48% over the past three years. This has led to an increase in cases of discrimination against Ukrainians and a spread of skeptical statements from Polish politicians. According to Bloomberg, which is cited in its article, Poland is no longer a symbol of solidarity with Ukraine, as it was before.

According to the publication, while in 2022, 94% of Poles supported the reception of Ukrainian refugees, by 2025 only half of the citizens consider such assistance justified, and half of those surveyed think that state benefits for Ukrainians are 'too generous.'

The decline in support occurs simultaneously with a rise in xenophobic incidents. Bloomberg mentions an incident in Warsaw where a Ukrainian-speaking woman was insulted by a man in military camouflage, while the bystanders remained indifferent.

The very fact of such a sharp change in sentiments within Polish society and the position of politicians creates a tense situation for Ukrainians living in Poland.
