Pepco's Entry into the Ukrainian Market
The Polish discount retailer Pepco is preparing to enter the Ukrainian market by the end of 2026, with plans to open between 5 and 10 stores. The chain, which already operates in 18 countries with over 4,000 outlets, is actively expanding its European footprint. The search for locations for the new Ukrainian stores is being handled by the consulting firm Retail&Development Advisor, which serves as Pepco's official exclusive representative in this venture.
Company Strategy and Plans
In the initial phase, the company intends to open stores ranging from 350 to 700 square meters in size. Pepco's technical department is already in negotiations with contractors to prepare the future premises. The discounter's strategy is focused on small and medium-sized towns, aiming to offer consumers an affordable range of budget-friendly family clothing, toys, and household goods. This expansion comes as many consumers in the region are seeking value-oriented retail options.
