Stepan Kubiv Passes Away
Stepan Kubiv, a former head of the National Bank of Ukraine and a long-serving member of parliament, died on May 18. Preliminary reports indicate that a blood clot was the cause of death. His farewell and burial will take place in Lviv on May 19–20, where he will be laid to rest at the Lychakiv Cemetery.
Farewell and Funeral Arrangements
The public farewell for Stepan Kubiv begins on May 19 at 4:30 PM, when his body will be brought to the Archcathedral of St. George. A parastas service will be held at the same church at 8:00 PM that evening. The coffin will remain in the cathedral overnight. On May 20, a funeral service will take place at St. George's Cathedral starting at 1:00 PM.
Following the service, a citywide farewell ceremony will be held at 2:30 PM near the Lviv City Hall. At 3:00 PM, the funeral procession will depart for the Lychakiv Cemetery.
