Stepan Kubiv Passes Away

Career and Achievements
Kubiv first entered parliament in 2012 as a representative of the Batkivshchyna party. In recent years, he was a member of the European Solidarity party. During his time in the Rada, he worked on committees focused on financial and economic policy and also acted as the president's representative in parliament. A key figure during the Euromaidan protests, he served as commander of the National Resistance Headquarters and actively helped rescue people during the 2014 fire at the Trade Unions Building.
Beyond his parliamentary work, Kubiv led the National Bank of Ukraine and sat on the National Security and Defense Council. In 2016, he was appointed First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Trade. Before entering politics, he headed Kredobank in Lviv.
He is survived by his wife and daughter. His contributions to Ukraine's development and political life will be remembered by many.
