Memory of outstanding personalities
Former assistant head coach of the French national football team Jean-Louis Gasset passed away at the age of 73. He worked with the French national team from 2010 to 2012 under head coach Laurent Blanc. Gasset was also known for his coaching career at clubs, notably leading teams such as:
- Montpellier
- Can
- Istres
- Saint-Étienne
- Bordeaux
- Marseille
In 2004, Gasset led 'Marseille' to the semifinals of the UEFA Europa League, and from 2022 to 2024, he coached the Ivory Coast national team.
Tragic losses in sports
At the same time, Ukrainian athlete Vitaliy Rymaruk died at the front. He was only 26 years old. Rymaruk was the champion of Ukraine among youth and served as an officer in the 1st combat group of the 4th special forces group. Vitaliy's tragic death occurred in the Pokrovsk direction of the Donetsk region.
