The People's Artist of Ukraine Stepan Higa has passed away: the singer was 66 years old

Unfortunately, on Friday, December 12, the People's Artist of Ukraine Stepan Higa passed away at the age of 66 in Lviv. According to the Zaxid.net portal, the artist died in the intensive care unit of the First Medical Association of the city of Lviv.



Stepan Higa was born in the village of Bilky in Transcarpathia in 1959. His artistic contribution was recognized in 1998 when he received the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine, and in 2002 he became a People's Artist. Among his most famous songs were 'This Dream', 'Yavorina', and 'Gold of the Carpathians'.



For his contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture, Stepan Higa was awarded the Golden Order of Prince Konstantin Ostrogiya of the 1st class in 2002, the Silver Order of Andrew the First-Called of the 2nd class in November 2005, and the Golden Order of Andrew the First-Called of the 1st class in January 2006.



His health condition deteriorated, leading to emergency intervention and the cancellation of all the artist's upcoming concerts. The condition was severe but stable, and he was receiving appropriate medical assistance. A concert at the Sports Palace was previously scheduled, which did not take place due to circumstances.



The death of the People's Artist of Ukraine Stepan Higa is a great loss for Ukrainian culture. He was renowned for his talent and contribution to the arts, leaving an unforgettable mark in the history of Ukrainian music.
