Conductor Dmytro Antoniuk has passed away: what losses Ukrainian culture has suffered

On October 29, the sad news about the death of the artistic director of the Kyiv Municipal Academic Wind Orchestra and the chief conductor of the Armed Forces Ensemble, Dmytro Antoniuk, was announced. The Honored Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the Armed Forces expressed condolences to the relatives and loved ones of the conductor, emphasizing Dmytro Antoniuk's significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian military music. He served as the artistic director and chief conductor of the Honored Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 25 years, making an extraordinary contribution to the musical culture of the country.



Information about Dmytro Antoniuk


Dmytro Zhanovych Antoniuk was born on May 23, 1961, in Kyiv. He held a higher education degree, having graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1984. In 2004, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine. His repertoire included a variety of works, from ceremonial to lyrical songs, as well as military-patriotic compositions.



In collaboration with the military orchestra, Dmytro Antoniuk performed not only in Ukraine but also in many countries around the world, telling about Ukrainian military music abroad. He was a respected and recognized musician who dedicated his life to art.



The late artistic director and chief conductor Dmytro Antoniuk left behind an enormous legacy in Ukrainian art; his contribution to the development of military music is recognized by fans and colleagues. His creativity and soulfulness will be remembered by many generations and will continue to live on in the echoes of music and the memory of the outstanding musician.
