Catherine O'Hara, the American actress known for her role as Kevin's mom in the movie 'Home Alone' and the character Moira Rose in the series 'Schitt's Creek', has died at the age of 71. Her manager confirmed the actress's death. She passed away in her home in Los Angeles after a brief illness. Variety reports this.

O'Hara had a career spanning over five decades. She began her journey on the Canadian sketch show 'Second City Television', which she co-created with Eugene Levy. For this work, the actress received her first Emmy Award and several nominations.

In films, O'Hara is remembered for her roles in the movies 'After Work', 'Beetlejuice', and the two parts of 'Home Alone', where she played the mother of the character Kevin McCallister. She also frequently collaborated with director Christopher Guest, appearing in his mockumentaries:
