Iryna Tolstykh, Coordinator of Kherson Rescue Aid Center, Dies at 42

На 42-му році життя пішла з життя Ірина Толстих, координаторка Центру порятунку в Херсоні.

Death of Iryna Tolstykh

Iryna Tolstykh, the coordinator of the Kherson Rescue Aid Center, passed away on February 3. She was 42 years old. Tolstykh had been working at the Center since December 2022. She was diagnosed with cancer in July 2023 and had spent the final month of her life in the hospital. Her death is a significant loss to Ukraine's civil society, which relies heavily on dedicated volunteers and professionals.

Contributions to Psychological Support

Iryna Tolstykh was a member of the National Association of Practicing Gestalt Therapists of Ukraine and an active participant in the EMDR Association in Ukraine. A farewell ceremony will be held on February 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home at the Mykolaiv Regional Hospital. Following the ceremony, she will be taken to Odesa for cremation.

Her passing has prompted profound grief among colleagues and those who knew her as a specialist in psychological aid. Her contribution to the work of the Kherson Rescue Aid Center will be remembered by many, as she actively supported people who had survived difficult life situations. Her work was particularly vital in a region that has endured immense hardship due to the ongoing war.
