The government program for compensation for the restoration of damaged housing in Ukraine has been in effect for 2 years. Its goal is to provide assistance in repairing housing damaged as a result of Russian aggression, as well as in acquiring new housing for those whose property has been destroyed.

According to the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development, as of July 1, more than 97 thousand Ukrainians have received compensation, totaling more than 9.7 billion hryvnias. A total of 160,575 applications have been submitted over the entire period.

Within this process, payments are made for both minor repairs and major renovations. The average payments amounted to 72,000 hryvnias and 341,800 hryvnias, respectively.

Compensation is also provided for acquiring new housing after destruction, which is implemented within the framework of the World Bank project 'Housing Repair for the Restoration of Rights and Opportunities of People (HOPE)'. Under this project, more than 21 thousand Ukrainians have received housing certificates worth 31.1 billion hryvnias, of which new housing has already been acquired by 12 thousand citizens, including more than 6 thousand internally displaced persons.

Additionally, the government redistributed 15 billion hryvnias for compensation for internally displaced persons at the beginning of this year. Payments for the restoration of housing on private plots, which began at the beginning of this year, also continue.

Ukrainians continue to receive compensation for the restoration of damaged housing, as well as for acquiring new housing after destruction. These programs are aimed at supporting those affected by Russian aggression and local conflicts, providing an opportunity to restore their lives and receive necessary support during a difficult period of rehabilitation and recovery.
