Shielding Supply Routes and Rebuilding Roads in Ukraine
Work is underway in Ukraine's frontline areas to install protective barriers against drones along major supply corridors. At the same time, roads essential for the Ukrainian armed forces are being repaired and restored. Since the start of 2026, the State Special Transport Service, acting on orders from Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, has built more than 1,184 km of anti-drone protection.
In July alone, about 215 km of new anti-drone shielding was erected in frontline regions, and another 16.52 km of existing shielding was refurbished. During the same month, nearly 112.7 km of paved roads were repaired. Repair operations began in April, and since then more than 424.9 km of roads have undergone current repair and maintenance.
Progress So Far and Why It Matters
At present, work is ongoing on 21 sections, while 25 have been fully completed. Ukraine's Ministry of Defense stressed the importance of these efforts, saying:
