Targeted Government Assistance for Veterans

More than 3,000 veterans who have experienced partial or complete vision loss while defending Ukraine are set to receive specialized government support. This initiative provides a one-time payment of up to 95,000 hryvnias, intended to help cover the cost of household appliances and assistive devices that enhance daily living.

Payment Details and Timeline

These funds will be distributed through November 1, 2027, and must be used by December 1, 2027. The program is being implemented in partnership with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.

Serhiy Koretsky emphasized: 'The government, together with its partners, is actively seeking additional financial resources to support veterans.'

This support initiative represents a significant effort to improve the quality of life for veterans who have sustained serious injuries during their service. Beyond easing their day-to-day challenges, it reflects Ukraine’s ongoing commitment to caring for those who defended the nation. Cooperation with the Red Cross highlights a successful model of collaboration between government agencies and non-governmental organizations in delivering social assistance.

For English-speaking audiences, understanding such programs underscores the broader context of Ukraine’s dedication to veteran welfare amid ongoing national challenges.
