Ministers and high-ranking officials from over 30 partner countries issued a joint statement regarding the decision of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) concerning the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes. In the statement, they expressed concern over the continuation of the war, violations of the Olympic Charter, and called for the exclusion of athletes from these countries from international competitions.
They also welcomed the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) regarding the exclusion of Russia from the 2026 Winter Olympic Games and the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee's membership. Some signatories emphasized the importance of clarifications from the IPC regarding the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in future Paralympic competitions.
Ukraine's Minister of Sport, Matviy Bidny, expressed gratitude to partner countries for their support of a common position in this matter.
