Ukraine will receive over $4 billion for the purchase of weapons. Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that partners have committed a large sum of money to purchase weapons from the USA for Ukraine through the PURL initiative.

It was noted that this week partner countries made new contributions, including $500 million from Norway, Poland, and the Netherlands, $200 million from Germany, and 200 million Canadian dollars from Canada. Also, this week Australia and New Zealand joined PURL, directing over $70 million.

“PURL allows countries to finance the purchase of American weapons according to a priority list of needs formulated by Ukraine and approved by the USA and NATO. Since the initiative PURL began, it has provided approximately 75% of all missiles for the Patriot systems and about 90% of missiles for other air defense systems supplied to Ukraine,” said Denys Shmyhal.

An important piece of news is the information about the large sum of money that Ukraine will receive for purchasing weapons from its partners, which will help support the country's defense capability in the context of the escalating conflict in the east. This initiative also demonstrates the support of Ukraine by allies in ensuring security and defense.
