Over 700 houses in Kyiv and the region without proper electricity: why it happened

Більше 700 осель у Києві та області залишились без стабільного електропостачання: причини ситуації.

The problem of electricity supply in Kyiv and the region

More than 700 houses in Kyiv and the region have been left without proper electricity supply due to the lack of necessary energy infrastructure. According to information, over 400 apartment buildings in the Kyiv region and about 300 in Kyiv are connected to the electrical grid as construction sites, which makes it impossible for their full use. The problem lies in the fact that developers have not provided these houses with the necessary transformer substations.

The absence of these substations leads to significant inconveniences for residents, who have become hostages to systemic failures in urban planning and construction control. As expert Oleg Popenko noted, the situation is deadlocked, and solving this problem requires significant investments in the construction of transformer substations, which are estimated to cost one or two billion.

The situation is physically impossible to fix quickly.

The importance of solving the problem

Solving this problem is critically important not only for improving the living conditions of residents but also for ensuring sustainable urban development. The lack of electricity supply can negatively affect economic activity in the region and also lead to a decrease in investor interest in new construction projects.

Therefore, effective steps by the authorities and developers are necessary to restore citizens' trust and provide adequate infrastructure in the capital and its vicinity.
