Program Overview: Power Stations for Children with Disabilities

In the first week of a new government initiative, over 7,000 applications were submitted for portable charging stations for children with disabilities in subgroup A. The first major shipment of this equipment is expected to arrive in Ukraine soon, with delivery by Ukrposhta JSC scheduled to begin in the coming weeks. The application window for this support will remain open until April 1, 2026.

Eligibility for Assistance

This aid is available to children under 18 with a disability in subgroup A who are residing in Ukraine. If a family has multiple eligible children, assistance will be provided for each one individually. Applications can be submitted by:

  • Parents,
  • Guardians or legal representatives of the child,
  • Representatives of family-type children's homes,
  • Foster families,
  • Institutions for orphaned children,
  • Patronage caregivers or families providing temporary placement for a child.

The program is being implemented by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine with the participation of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, and the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, in partnership with Ukrposhta JSC. Funding is provided from the state budget through the Decarbonization Fund of Ukraine. This initiative highlights the critical need for reliable power for medical and mobility equipment, which is often essential for the well-being of children with disabilities.

The government initiative also underscores Ukraine's commitment to supporting vulnerable population groups, particularly amid ongoing economic and social challenges. This program could serve as a model for future efforts to ensure greater inclusivity within society.
