The State Bureau of Investigations has annulled more than 800 disability decisions made by the Medical-Social Expert Commission, which were assigned to law enforcement officers and officials of state institutions without justification. During inspections, 70 institutions and 2630 medical cases were reviewed.
Inspection Results
- More than 800 decisions of the Medical-Social Expert Commission were annulled as unfounded.
- The disability group or term was changed in over 400 cases.
- Nearly 100 officials were summoned for further examination.
According to the director of the DBR, most often, fictitious disability was obtained to receive pensions and evade mobilization. It turned out that the violators worked in state institutions, such as the State Customs and Tax Service, as well as the prosecutor's office.
It is emphasized that inspections are still ongoing and cover all state institutions in all regions of Ukraine. In addition, several officials have been charged with unjustified receipt of disability through collusion with the chairmen of the Medical-Social Expert Commission.
The identified facts indicate a significant level of corruption and abuses in the disability assignment system, which require immediate intervention and changes to improve the situation.
