Mobilization Postponements Extended Automatically

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has announced that over 90% of existing mobilization postponements will be automatically renewed without requiring individuals to submit new applications. This gradual process will continue until October 30, with the system verifying eligibility through official government registries. Automatic extensions apply to 22 groups, including:

  • people with disabilities;
  • those temporarily unfit for service;
  • parents of three or more children;
  • single parents with children under 18 years old;
  • caregivers for seriously ill family members.

To benefit from automatic renewal, the reason for the postponement must remain valid and be confirmed by state records. Once the extension is approved, individuals should update their electronic military registration documents via the Reserv+ app and verify the new expiration date. If the app shows "until the end of mobilization," this indicates that the postponement is valid through the current mobilization period. The Reserv+ app will also notify users if automatic renewal was unsuccessful.

Why Automatic Extensions Might Not Occur

Automatic renewal may fail due to missing or outdated information in government databases. In such cases, citizens can update their data and resubmit their request through the Reserv+ app or visit a local Administrative Services Center (CNAP). Valid postponements remain in effect until their expiration date, so submitting a new application to the Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) is unnecessary. It is important to understand that automatic extension and applying for a new postponement are separate procedures.

Currently, 12 categories of citizens can apply for new postponements online via Reserv+. The Ministry of Defense is progressively expanding eligibility for online applications. As stated in their announcement:

"This does not necessarily mean that you have lost the right to a postponement."

Automatically extending mobilization postponements is a crucial measure to protect the rights of those unable to serve due to various legitimate reasons. This streamlined approach eases the administrative burden on both citizens and government bodies. By also enabling online applications for new postponements, the Ministry is adapting to societal needs and enhancing access to these important services in today’s environment.
