Suspicions of embezzlement of budget funds
Officials of the Lviv City Council are suspected of embezzling almost 4 million UAH during the renovation of a children's camp. The total amount of contracts for the capital renovation of the children's camp is 11.6 million UAH. Violations have been identified within this case, leading to significant financial losses.
Suspects and consequences
The suspects in this case are:
- the former head of a department of one of the city council's departments,
- the director of the children's camp,
- an economist,
- the head of the contracting organization.
The amount of damage caused was almost 4 million UAH, which raised serious concerns among the public and law enforcement agencies.
Three suspects have been taken into custody with the right to post a bail of 3.8 million UAH each. Another suspect received a penalty of night house arrest. The maximum penalty for these charges entails imprisonment for up to six years.
This situation underscores the importance of monitoring the use of budget funds, especially in sensitive areas such as organizing recreation for children.
