It is emphasized that the Ukrainian and Russian sides have different approaches to preparing for the meeting of leaders and in general to the negotiation process. According to Ambassador Nariman Djelyal, Ukrainians set as a condition for a ceasefire the attempts to align their positions with the Russians. Meanwhile, the Russians believe that first, their positions need to be aligned, and only then can we talk about a ceasefire and possible meetings of the leaders.

Ukraine insists on stopping killings during negotiations, while Russia believes that the continuation of hostilities is possible until positions are aligned. It is noted that both sides have completely different understandings and requirements regarding the negotiation process.

During interactions with Turkey, Ukrainians must be realistic and not have excessive expectations. Turkey, according to the ambassador, is currently acting as the main mediator, without acting as a neutral participant in the negotiation process.
