Ukraine Braces for a Week of Warming Temperatures, with Kyiv Set to See a Thaw
A steady warm-up is forecast across Ukraine next week, with daytime temperatures expected to remain above freezing. This shift marks a positive change in the weather pattern. According to the Meteofor service, temperatures in Kyiv will gradually climb, starting around +2°C (36°F) in the early part of the week.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center confirms that a warming period will begin in Kyiv on Monday. Daytime highs in the capital are predicted to hold between +1°C and +3°C (34-37°F), while nighttime frosts will gradually weaken. By the week's end, temperatures in the Ukrainian capital could rise further to between +3°C and +5°C (37-41°F).
In fact, data from sinoptik suggests the air temperature in Kyiv could reach as high as +7°C (45°F) by March 1st. This warming trend follows a period of winter weather, providing a welcome respite for many. However, on February 20th, cloudy conditions are expected across Ukraine, with possible snow and icy glaze in some areas.
Moderate precipitation, mostly snow, is anticipated in the Transcarpathian and Prykarpattia regions, as well as across most central and eastern areas. Light snow is possible in places across northern regions, while the rest of the country is forecast to remain dry.
The warming in Ukraine could be a significant factor for the agricultural sector, as its onset may influence preparations for the spring sowing season.
Nevertheless, despite the positive forecasts, weather conditions in other parts of the country could still disrupt normal spring fieldwork. Monitoring weather updates will remain crucial for residents of Ukraine in the coming days, as the transition from winter continues.
