In memory of Mykhailo Rudyi

Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives have been taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Mykhailo Rudyi.

The defender of Ukraine fought for his life for 19 days after a serious injury. But on June 18, 2025, the heart of 39-year-old soldier Mykhailo Rudyi stopped... This was reported by 'Hlavkom' citing the Rivne City Council.

Childhood and Education

Rudyi Mykhailo Tarasovych was born on December 20, 1985, in the village of Vyshenky, Ostroh district, Rivne region. In 1988, he moved with his parents to the city of Rivne. He studied at Rivne Secondary School No. 13, then received the profession of a plumber at the Rivne Technical College. He lived and worked in his hometown.

He was known as a calm, kind, and sincere person who always came to help. Mykhailo was respected for his honesty, sincerity, and humanity.

On February 10, 2025, Mykhailo was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Fight for Ukraine and Farewell

The defender carried out combat missions in the hottest spots - first in Sumy region, and then in the territory of the Kursk region. On May 30, 2025, during a combat mission in the Kurshchyna direction, Mykhailo was seriously injured as a result of enemy mortar fire.

For 19 days, doctors fought for his life. But, unfortunately, on June 18, 2025, the heart of 39-year-old soldier Mykhailo Rudyi stopped.

“He dreamed of returning home. He wanted to live more, create, love, be close to his loved ones. But above all – he believed in Victory and gave up the most precious thing for it,” said the hero's mother Yevheniya Platonivna.

The farewell to Mykhailo Rudyi took place on June 24 at Independence Square in Rivne. The warrior was buried at the “Novo” cemetery.

'Hlavkom' joins a moment of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died in the struggle for their Homeland. We remember those who perished at the hands of the Russian occupiers, lighting candles of memory and bowing our heads in grief during the nationwide minute of silence, honoring the bright memory of the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, all who died in the struggle against Russian occupiers and as a result of enemy attacks on Ukrainian cities and villages.

Mykhailo Rudyi, known as a kind, decent, and devoted person, was a true hero who gave his life for his country. His path of military service and the struggle for Ukraine's freedom will not go unnoticed. Ukraine will always remember the Hero who sacrificed his future, believing in victory and the bright future of his state.
