Атака ракетами на столицю: Вибухи та сирени лунають по всій Україні 8 лютого.

Widespread Air Raid Alert Across Ukraine

A large-scale air raid alert was declared across Ukraine on February 8. That evening, explosions were heard in Kyiv following an attack involving ballistic missiles. The Ukrainian Air Force reported a threat of ballistic weapon use originating from Russia's Bryansk region. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko urged residents of the capital to stay in shelters, stating:

"Explosions in the capital. Kyiv is under ballistic attack. Air defense forces are engaged." - Vitali Klitschko

Combined Assaults by Russian Forces

Furthermore, from the evening of February 6 through the night of February 7, Russian forces launched a combined assault on Ukraine's critical infrastructure. Air defense units intercepted 406 out of 477 incoming targets. As a result of the February 7 attacks, a warehouse fire broke out in the Kyiv region due to a drone strike. In the Rivne region, a residential building was hit and critical infrastructure was damaged.

On the night of February 7, the Russian military struck a critical infrastructure facility in the Volyn region with drones, causing damage. The Ivano-Frankivsk region came under attack from cruise missiles and drones, with repeated explosions recorded in Burshtyn. Explosions also occurred in Vinnytsia, damaging an educational institution. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the enemy directed drones, damaging the premises of a municipal enterprise in Dnipro, as well as buildings, trolleybuses, and other vehicles. The Khmelnytskyi region also suffered a missile and drone attack, which left one man wounded.

These events mark a significant escalation in the conflict, highlighting the persistent threat to civilian areas and essential services. The attacks on cities, including the capital Kyiv, demonstrate a continued Russian strategy to intimidate the population and destabilize the country. Despite considerable efforts, Ukrainian air defense forces face a high level of threat, requiring ongoing adaptation to new challenges. The short-term outlook remains tense, as the consequences of these strikes could have far-reaching implications for regional security and stability.
