Ballistic Missile Threat Triggers 15-Minute Air Raid Alert in Kyiv and Surrounding Regions

У Києві та прилеглих областях оголошено тривогу через загрозу ракетного удару.

Air Raid Alert Sounded in Kyiv

An air raid alert was declared in Kyiv and several regions on February 21, 2026, due to a threat of ballistic weapon use. The alert began at 15:05 and lasted for 15 minutes, ending at 15:20. The Kyiv City Military Administration urged residents of the capital to immediately proceed to the nearest shelters and remain there until the all-clear was given. This incident highlights the persistent and acute threat to civilian areas from long-range missile systems.

This alert followed a previous attack on the night of February 18. During that assault, one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 126 attack drones were deployed. In connection with these events, the Air Force warned of a ballistic weapon threat, particularly in the direction of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Actions by Ukrainian Forces

Separately, in the first month of 2026, Ukrainian engineering forces reported the results of their operations, which led to the elimination of nearly 700 invaders and the destruction of over a hundred pieces of enemy equipment. These figures demonstrate the active and ongoing defensive efforts of Ukrainian forces in response to enemy threats.

The declaration of the air raid alert indicates a heightened level of tension in the region, likely a consequence of escalating military actions. Given the recent attacks, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to implement measures to protect the civilian population and strategic sites. The constant threats from the adversary demand rapid response and preparedness for potential new attacks from Ukrainian forces.
