A blast occurred in Ternopil from X-101 cruise missiles that hit residential buildings. This information was provided by the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to military sources, the missiles were launched from Russian Tu-95MS and Tu-160MS aircraft, which took off from airfields in Russia. The specified locations are in the Vologda and Astrakhan regions.
Currently, law enforcement officials have arrived at the explosion site to investigate and document the event as a terrorist act. One missile fragment that hit a building has been found. It has been established that it was a X-101 cruise missile manufactured in 2025 with foreign-made components.
The Air Force indicates that such situations could have been avoided if Russia had not been trading in prohibited missile components.
After the explosion of the cruise missiles in Ternopil, there were serious damages to residential buildings. Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the incident as a terrorist act, establishing the origin of the missiles and searching for those responsible. The Air Force of Ukraine calls on Russia to stop supplying dangerous weapons systems to the territory of Ukraine.
