Вогняна стихія завдала удару по курортному комплексу у Західній Україні, знищивши готель та сусідню споруду.

Blaze Erupts at Krasiya Ski Resort

A major fire broke out on May 3-4, 2026, at the Krasiya ski resort, located in the village of Vyshka within the Uzhhorod district of Zakarpattia Oblast. Emergency services received the alarm at 10:15 PM on May 3. To combat the flames, authorities deployed 29 firefighters and 8 pieces of specialized equipment.

Crews managed to contain the fire by 5:30 AM on May 4, with the blaze fully extinguished at 9:05 AM. The inferno spread across a total area of 1,175 square meters. It completely destroyed a hotel building covering 1,050 square meters and an adjacent structure of 125 square meters. Thanks to the responders' efforts, a nearby three-story wooden house was saved from the flames.

No casualties or injuries have been reported as a result of the incident. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) in Zakarpattia continues to investigate the circumstances to determine the fire's cause.

Impact on Local Tourism Infrastructure

This fire at a well-known resort could significantly affect the region's tourism infrastructure, particularly as the busy winter season approaches. Extinguishing the blaze and restoring the damaged buildings will require substantial effort from local authorities and businesses.

It is also crucial that the investigation's findings help prevent similar incidents in the future, ensuring the safety of both visitors and local residents.

The recent fire at Krasiya Resort is not an isolated incident in the region. Just a few weeks earlier, a similar blaze at a wooden hotel in Zakarpattia required the efforts of 42 firefighters to bring it under control. Such incidents raise concerns about fire safety measures in the area.
