Kyiv's Darnytskyi District Hit by Major Blaze, Engulfing Trucks and Warehouse

Вогонь спалив значну частину вантажівок та складів у Дарницькому районі Києва.

Warehouse and Vehicles Destroyed in Kyiv Night Fire

A significant fire broke out in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district overnight between February 12 and 13, 2026. The blaze originated in an Opel cargo truck before spreading to a second Renault truck and a single-story warehouse on the grounds of a private homestead. Emergency services received the initial alert at 10:48 PM on February 12. Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames by 00:14 AM on February 13, after they had consumed 150 square meters. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported from this incident.

Deadly Fires Elsewhere in the Kyiv Region

Separately, two other fatal fires occurred in the wider Kyiv region. Police have launched a pre-trial investigation into a fire in the village of Lavryky, which resulted in one death. A preliminary cause points to smoking in bed. Another tragedy unfolded in the village of Selyshche, part of the Baryshivka community, where a fire claimed the lives of two elderly residents—an 88-year-old man and an 82-year-old woman, who were the homeowners.

These events across the Kyiv region highlight serious ongoing concerns regarding fire safety.

While the Darnytskyi district fire resulted in no loss of life, it serves as a critical reminder of the importance of adhering to fire safety regulations.

The tragic outcomes of the other regional incidents underscore how vital fire prevention and public awareness of fire hazards truly are. Authorities and rescue services are urged to intensify informational campaigns to help prevent similar incidents in the future. These fires come amid ongoing efforts to modernize emergency response infrastructure across Ukraine.
