Faster Reinstatement of Reservist Status Now Possible for Defense Industry Workers After Fixing Errors

Прискорене відновлення статусу військовозобов'язаних стало можливим для працівників оборонної промисловості завдяки усуненню недоліків.

Updates to the Military Reservist Booking Process

Employees of critical enterprises and the defense-industrial complex who have resolved their military registration violations can now expedite the renewal of their reservation status. Previously, such bookings were granted for 45 days to allow time for status adjustment, but now extensions can proceed without canceling the prior reservation. This information was reported by the media outlet 'Glavkom', citing the 'Diia' platform.

Ukraine has been under martial law since Russia's full-scale invasion began. Men aged 18 to 60 who are deemed medically fit may be called up for service. Due to a shortage of mobilization resources, Ukraine may revise its booking rules. Representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to recruit skilled specialists by lifting their deferments. The electronic booking system for reservists has also been improved.

Procedure for Extending Reservist Status

Employers can now extend a deferment seamlessly through the 'Diia' portal. To submit an application on this platform, follow these simple steps:

  • Verify the legal entity's information.
  • In the 'Employee Category' section, select 'Employees with Military Registration Violations'.
  • Specify the correct category after the extension if you have multiple options.
  • Enter the employee's details, review the application, and sign it with a qualified electronic signature (QES).
“Previously, an employee could be reserved for 45 days to sort out their status. Now, if the data has already been corrected, the company can immediately apply for an extension—without canceling the previous status,” notes the 'Diia' press service.

If an authorized representative submits the application, it must also be endorsed by the head of the enterprise or the signatory listed in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs, and Public Organizations.

These changes to the military reservist booking mechanism could significantly streamline the process for enterprises vital to the nation's economy and defense. Amid ongoing mobilization and a shortage of human resources, simplifying the procedure allows for quicker adaptation to the needs of the Armed Forces while retaining skilled workers in key sectors. This also reflects the state's effort to maintain a balance between military requirements and economic stability.

In light of these recent updates, it's essential for employers to stay informed about the evolving regulations surrounding military service deferments. For those seeking to navigate the complexities of reservist bookings, the newly approved guidelines for deferment provide further clarity and assistance in managing their workforce amidst ongoing mobilization efforts.
